Though I've put this on other people's blogs, I figured it was time to put it on my own. So I can find it again. Next year I'll forget where I wrote this otherwise.
I have a new book out called The Dom with a Safeword which I co-wrote with two other authors. Here’s what the book’s about: Late at night, on an amateur ghost hunt, Sabrina and her best friend Q are caught trespassing by the gorgeous, blonde Jude. The embers of attraction between them sizzle when they discover Jude’s kinks match their own. Jude is a Dom on his last summer of freedom before starting the prison sentence that is med school. Q is a badass bi switch who knows what she wants, and for years it’s been her cute, doe-eyed straight friend Sabrina. But the only way for Q into Sabrina’s heart and panties may be with Jude’s fist wrapped in her hair. Domming the bratty Q and mischievous Sabrina isn’t going to be easy but Jude relishes the challenge. At the end of the summer, will they find a way to stay together when everything is tearing them apart? So it’s a BDSM contemporary romance with a ménage and Mff sex scenes as well as quite a few girl on girl kissing and sex scenes. People often ask how the three of us came to write The Dom with a Safeword – after all, it’s uncommonly difficult to get along with one other writer enough to do a book, let alone three! We three became friends first - I already knew Leia Shaw, of course, as we wrote 31 Flavors of Kink together. And when we discovered that Sorcha was a good writer, despite being new and a bit clumsy with the grammar, we considered doing a book together (Her writing is now awesome, by the way). We all wanted to try contemporary fiction but all of us were more comfy with fantasy writing. Things rolled out from there. It became quite simple for each of us to slip into one character and we alternated chapters as the points of view (POV) changed from one person to the next. We came to know our characters so well that we would often alter the dialogue or body language someone else wrote in. I was the sexpert (lol) as I seem to write those well, and Leia was the US dialogue and humor coach. I won't say who wrote what, though I have mentioned it elsewhere. You can guess. We critiqued each scene anyway, and swapped, and so things merge to a degree. I also wrote the sex and some of the kissing scenes told from Leia's character's POV. So there are three characters and each chapter is labeled with the name of the character whose POV it is. We figured out the people and plotted the story first, though that did alter a bit as the story progressed. Mostly we wrote it in time sequence, but toward the end we overlapped so as to get it finished. This story’s characters are based loosely on people we know and their relationships. One of the things we wanted to do with this book was to make sure there was a hearty dose of humor and fun woven in. Because really, who doesn’t see some fun in the world at some time? Sex should be enjoyable, and hell, BDSM too, however you get your kicks. A lot of Doms in fiction seem to have lost their funny bone somewhere down the back of the couch. Hence Jude was born. The man knows how to have fun and how to, mostly, keep up with two of the brattiest brats around. And if he misses the punishment mark sometimes, he makes them pay for it later, if he remembers. He’s fair yet not infallible. The story isn’t at all slapstick and silly though, and there’s a lot of sadness toward the end. We hope it makes for a great balance. Who needs Christmas when it brings bad memories? Jude is hung up on his past but his bisexual brats Q and Sabrina are going to drag their normally good-natured Dom into the festive season even if they have to put him on the naughty list. But being in a ménage a trois isn’t simple. Yes, we've written a little novella that ties up some of the loose ends from The Dom with a Safeword in a pretty red Christmas bow. Sexy, naughty and wrapped in snuggly love and romance. Plus featuring maybe some handcuffs, rope...etcetera
Due out before Christmas! Jude, Q and Sabrina are also going to be appearing in the full-length novel out next year called, The Dom with the Perfect Brats. That book is the story of Godfrey Cross, the Dom who hates brats. Yet nothing is ever set in concrete, and he begins to doubt. Inked up to the eyeballs with tats, this big man with a mean stare believes Gemma and Izzy are two women he will grow to love. When his terrible past shoulders in, their hopes and desires become a tangled mess. But if anyone can overcome pain by sheer willpower, Godfrey Cross can. Alas Frankenstorm, aka Hurricane Sandy, has forced our hand and The Dom with a Safeword had its release party early. The book is out and shambling about on Amazon, ARE, Smashwords and no doubt other places Leia Shaw, one of my 2 co-writers, hasn't told me about. Because she likes surprising me...such a kind woman...where's my bugspray gone? And my lightning rod. Here Leia, hold this while I go over there out of the rain. So lurch out and buy our book if you like the idea of a sexy, heartfelt, sometimes humorous BDSM romance with a quirky cast of characters and confident, slightly imperfect but HOT Dom. All for ONLY $3.99 on Kindle, Nook, ARe and Smashwords Early 5 Star Amazon review "Absolutely LOVED this story! It was so hard not to fall in love with Jude! The story of Jude, Q and Sabrina was adorable! Such a wonderfully written piece where everyone ends up happy, even if there is a heart breaking moment of separation. I thoroughly enjoyed this story of the dom/sub play, and it truly showed the respect and unconditional love a Dom has for his submissives. A fantastic read!" Kayla-Marie I normally put out a newsletter for my fans but this has caught me on the hop and I'm not sure if I will be doing that as the main thing with my newsletter is to give fans an early look at a big chunk of the book. As Amazon has up to Chapter 4 showing as their excerpt, I've put the same amount here. So check it out if you want to see what the story is about - the first THREE chapters & buylinks are here. Here's another snippet from this book I've co-written with Leia Shaw and Sorcha Black. Sorcha's a new author who we've been spanking into shape. Leia is a best-selling author with the great "Destiny" PNR romance series, as well as 31 Flavors of Kink - another BDSM book we co-wrote. I wrote the Dom, Jude. Leia wrote the innocent submissive, Sabrina, who is new to both BDSM and girl on girl. And Sorcha Black wrote the bisexual switch Q, who hates her real name and rarely tells it. Before you read my six sentences, you might want to read the blurb. Late at night, on an amateur ghost hunt, Sabrina and her best friend Q are caught trespassing by the gorgeous, blonde Jude. The embers of attraction between them sizzle when they discover Jude’s kinks match their own. Jude is a Dom on his last summer of freedom before starting the prison sentence that is med school. This is the first time Sabrina gets a taste of being dominated by both Q and Jude - with Jude pinning her arms behind her back, and Q kissing her. From Sabrina's point of view: His grip hardened. “I think she likes it,” Jude said, amusement coloring his voice. Oh, how right he was. Q ignored him, seemingly lost in her own world of nibbles and licks. When her lips grazed behind Sabrina’s ear, her breath tickled. Sabrina arched her back and her breasts pressed against Q’s, shocking her into a sharp awareness of what they did.
